How to Play This Icebreaker Game

  1. 1Form a circle with all participants standing.
  2. 2The first player claps their hands, points to another player, and says 'Zip'.
  3. 3The player who was pointed at immediately claps, points to a third player, and says 'Zap'.
  4. 4The third player claps, points to a fourth player, and says 'Zop'.
  5. 5The sequence repeats (Zip, Zap, Zop, Zip...) as the energy moves around the circle.
  6. 6The goal is to keep the rhythm fast and consistent without hesitation. If someone messes up, simply laugh and restart!

Variations

  • Elimination Mode: If a player hesitates, says the wrong word, or points unclear, they are 'out' and step back. The circle shrinks until a winner remains.
  • Zip Zap Zop Boing: Add a move called 'Boing' (hands up, blocking motion) which rejects the energy and bounces it back to the sender, who must then send it elsewhere.
  • Silent Version: Play the entire game with just eye contact and pointing, no words allowed. This creates intense focus.
