Is the crossword maker free?

Yes. Creating, printing and sharing are free, with no account required.

Can I use answers with spaces?

Yes. GAME NIGHT becomes GAMENIGHT in the grid. Spaces, hyphens and apostrophes do not occupy squares. Use 2–24 A–Z letters per answer, with up to 30 answers.

Why did a word not fit?

Answers need shared letters and enough space to cross. Any word that could not fit is listed after generation. Try another layout, edit the answer, or add a word that connects it to the others.

Does the PDF include an answer key?

Yes. The blank grid and clues come first; the answer key starts on a separate page. Long clue lists may continue onto additional pages.

Will friends get the same crossword?

Yes. The link restores the same title, clues and layout. Each person fills in their own copy, so their entries do not change yours.
